This is a model I made in a 2 week prep for my up'n'coming art course starting in september, we each had to chose an object (mine was an umberella) and do work based on that object....It didn't take long for H.R.Geiger stuff to kick in (not the kinkay stuff, i mean his wierd mechanical landscapey thingies.....I stared at that umberella too much) ....

Anyway, for our 3D sculpture, didn't have to make out ACTUAL object, but more....soemthing based on it. I made this, an wierd alien plant. we only had about 2 hours or so to make it O_O so its very rushed and falling apart. Its made from modeling wire (for the spines) which were stuck into a sponge (my mum still doesn't miss it....) for balance, and then its just wrapped in masking tape....
its stuck (via masking tape) to a cardboard base which i cut from the back of my sketchbook, and theres modeling paste to give it a rough texture, with bits i cut off goose feathers, trying to make a wierd alien landscape.....*plugs fog machine in*

Anyway, it was just painted white cos i didn't wanna leave it making tape coloured.....I'll probably touch it up and paint it properly and exotically in the future.
